Forest and natural resource professionals, landowners, and community members are invited to a one-day discussion that highlights regional forest health considerations and explores the challenges and opportunities associated with responding to these issues. The program will include updates on sudden oak death from the north coast of California and southern Oregon; Port-Orford-Cedar Root Disease and the status of the resistance tree breeding program; using drone technology to evaluate spatial features of pest incidence; and broader disturbance-induced tree mortality in the West. The program will include discussion of “learning to live with” these and other established and emerging long-term forest health challenges.
