Achievement Program
The Achievement Program helps Members find and use their spark to make a positive difference in the world. It is an optional program to help Members document their growth in 4-H.
The Achievement Program has 4 progressions:
- iSprout Achievements - for Primary members (ages 5-8)
- Spark Achievements - for new members & Junior members (ages 9-10)
- Emerald Star I & II - for Intermediate members (ages 11-13)
- Impact Star - for Senior members (ages 14-18)
The progressions work together to empower youth by helping them form meaningful youth-adult partnerships, identify what inspires them, set goals, and work towards purposeful and informed change. This is another way in which 4-H equips youth to grow and thrive.
Achievement Program Manual has details on how to transition to the program for each age member group, the goals for each progression, and how to earn achievement awards
Achievement Program overview has links to report forms for all progressions
For the 2023-2024 program year:
- New members, Primary members and Junior members: start in the Achievement Program
- Intermediate members and Senior members who have previously earned at least a Bronze Star in the Star Rank Program can either:
- continue in the Star Rank Program to finish with a Platinum Star, or
- switch to the Achievement Program, or
- complete both the Star Rank Program and the Achievement program to receive awards in both

Project Proficiency
The Project Proficiency program gives Members recognition for personal progress in projects and Project Leaders guidelines to enhance project content.
Each project proficiency is comprised of three or five skill levels. As Members learn specific skill sets for each level, they are rewarded for their progress in the project. They can be used for any age Member and are voluntary to use according to individual needs and interests.
