Project Meeting (Shasta College Farm): Discussed upcoming events, poultry shows, and Livestock Judging Day results. Learned the bantam poultry classes and how to walk your bird during showmanship. Discussed the relation of egg shell color to the breed of the bird.  We then had a small Christmas party. Personal skills gained: A better understanding of a chicken’s reproductive system and how and why pigment is added to the shell and how it relates to the chickens breed and ear lobe color.

Livestock Judging Day, Shasta College: I met with the other goat members before Livestock judging day. We talked about what we need to look for in the different market animals, how to place the classes, and the terms to use when giving placing reasons. I also lead a group through the different stations. I helped the younger members and gave them tips on what to look for. I worked on my judging skills and livestock terminology and well as my communication and leadership skills.
